Practice

Tom’s legal practice began with a focus on tax and business law which allowed Tom to build an expertise covering the many legal and operational challenges of businesses and their owners. Through Tom’s involvement and guidance, Tom became a trusted advisor to many of the owners and executives of his corporate clients. As Tom’s practice and Tom’s clients’ needs progressed, Tom became an excellent estate planning advisor to his clients. Today, Tom primarily focuses his practice in estate planning and wealth transfer, including creation of wills and trusts, charitable plans and estate administration. With his expertise in a multitude of legal areas developed throughout his career, Tom has the ability to assist clients in planning their affairs by bringing the big picture into focus and effectively ascertaining the clients’ personal goals and the best methods to reach those goals.

Credentials

Tom is a Partner of Pansing Hogan Ernst & Buser, LLP. He received his B.S. from the University of Nebraska, his J.D. from the University of Nebraska (with distinction) and was a member of the U.S. Army JAG Corps. Tom is a member of the Omaha Bar Association, Nebraska State Bar Association, American Bar Association, and was a member of the Nebraska Law Review from 1968 to 1969.

Interests and Involvement

Tom and his wife, Jennifer, enjoy time spent and experiences shared with the families of their sons. Tom is a self-described recreational fly fisherman and golfer. Tom has served non-profit organizations too numerous to count throughout his career, including over 30 years serving as the legal advisor to the Omaha Community Foundation.
